g9 jerking when starting
I got a 1994 G9 cart, When I am trying to start it, it is jerking real bad it seems like on compression stroke but once it is running it runs smooth.. Just wondering what could cause this? Clutch engaging too soon? any help will be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance

Re: g9 jerking when starting
Is the whole cart jerking or just the motor. If it's the whole cart one of your clutches probably isn't opening all the way and it's catching on the belt.

Did you check your engine mounts? They are rubber mounts and are famous for breaking and or being loose on those carts.

Re: g9 jerking when starting
The engine does not move much at all when i grab ahold of it and try to jerk only when it is starting..seems like the starter does not have enough power to turn it over and it stops suddnely then it will crank about 3 more times and then do it again and sometimes it wont do it all

Re: g9 jerking when starting
You might have a weak start/gen or maybe a weak battery. Check your wiring and especially your grounds.

Re: g9 jerking when starting
Make sure the generator belt is tight it will cause this if it slips, or weak battery even bad ground cable connection sometimes. It can barely turn it over then its fine running.

Re: g9 jerking when starting
I am thinking the starter generator is bad...cause even with a good battery....i took one out of my truck and hooked up jumper cables it still does it.. I checked wires all seem tight... Can these be rebuilt?
