Default G1 Help!

I bought a used G1 this summer, ran like a top. Over the winter I restored the body ( paint, roof, seats. etc.) I go to drive it out of the garage and it will not run, No spark. I trace all the wires to see if something is loose or cut. Everything looks to be intact. This is where the fun starts. I change the ignition switch, nothing, change the stop switch, nothing. By accident I discover that if I unplug the black/white striped wire from the CDI unit I have spark and the carts runs like it did before. I know this isn't the correct fix, but I had to use the cart this last weekend for a fundraiser. So anyway I drve the cart five blocks to this event (runs fine). I get there and as soon as I have to use it, Nothing! Won't even roll over, acts like there is no battery power. I check the conections, all looks good, lights work, stereo works. I am lost, don't know what to look for now. If I put power to the red/white stripe on the voltage regulator it rolls over. All the contacts look good in there too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Craig

First thing to do on those is check all the ground wire connections to the generator, engine, solenoids, etc. Check all the fuse holders too and other wire connections. Most problems like this are ground connections as these carts are not frame ground like a car. It could be something else, but try the ground connections/etc first they are very common issues. (& cheap to fix)

Sounds like the switch under gas pedal is bad. If you can disconnect the wires you mentioned...the cart will idle and not shut off correct?

If so...bad switch!

I have heard of a bad voltage regulator screwing things up, there is a post about how to test it here someplace check the stickys at the top.

I have replaced the stop switch under the pedal. I will check the regulator.
