The big tires look great on a cart, but if it is electric with a stock motor, you WILL lose torque. Torque is FOOT pounds and the farther from the center of the hub to the road you go, you lose foot pounds. That's why shade tree mechanics put a pipe on a wrench to get more leverage. (foot pounds.) Diesels have more torque and that is why they use them to turn the large tires. A 210 hp cummings has about the same torque as a fuel injected 454 race engine.

Fix is go back to standard tires or an electric motor with more torque.

Is this gas? If gas you need a new or near new belt that helps. Lube the clutches and make sure they work right (don't have a bad roller in there/etc). Make sure the sheaves are not worn out the belt will dish them out, the belt should stay at top of rear clutch when you take off or it is at rest. Next if your motor mounts are bad and engine moves towards the trans that will kill torque, I forget if that cart has a tensioner cable like the G9 does (that breaks sometimes). If so its under the generator pulley to the mount. Gas cart will burn the tires on gravel, but lifted its not going to. Still it should climb any reasonable hill they just go pretty slow.

Give your Yamaha a boost! The Power Kit Plus fits G11/G16/G20/G21 and G22 models, 1996 and up. By taking advantage of this kit instead of buying these items separately, you’ll keep more money in your pocket.
•K & N Drop-In Replacement Filter (FLT YA5 3001)
•Basic Power Kit (STQ YA0 4000)
•Drive Belt (BLT YA0 1339)
This is the kit they put in from Buggies unlimited

You can get a cut secondary sheave, they help I'm getting one. Its like a lower first gear. I put one in it helped, then put a clone in that cart and it takes off great now with all else stock. It does take a couple seconds, but even on a hill after 2 sec you are gone.

Mine has the stock spring and the splined spacer and it works great. I think the spacer makes the difference in the performance.
