Default G9 spark plug help.

I have a 1993 G9. I went to change the spark plug, the plug in it is a NGK-BP5HS. The book calls for a BR4ES.

The BP5HS is a short reach plug, 14mm x 1/2 inch.
The BR4ES is a long reach plug, 14mm x 3/4 inch.

Witch plug do I use.

Thank You for your help.
Don

The BR4ES is the standard plug for this model.

Just me, but I use NGK-BPR2ES in all Yamaha 4 cycles from 1985 G2's thru "The Drive's". Yes its a "hotter plug", but works for us and I don't have to stock all differant plugs.

I just picked up a plug at the local golf cart shop for my G9. I took in a BR4ES and said I wanted a new plug. They gave me a BPR2ES. I didn't even look at it until after I got back home. They said this is what the specs called for.... I don't know but it works anyway.

My yamaha dealer told me to use this and I have for many years. It is the stock plug for newer carts than my G9.

Yamaha g1's use NGK-BP5HS (2 cycle) all 4 cycles should run NGK-BPR2ES. If the spark plug fouls with these, you have an engine problem.

I bought another beater that runs really rough, it has a single cylinder 4-stroke engine, I drained the gas and put fresh gas in, changed the tank filter. it pops and sputters if I give it any gas beyond an idle and dies out, it will idle all day long though. it has 175 lbs compression with wide open throttle, I set the valves to .004, I changed the plug (BKR5ES) with the same plug that was in it, the new plug seems very wet after trying to run it. Any suggestions?
I think it's a G9 serial #JG5 200212
