good lift kit to buy
I just joined this forum and just got my first gas yamaha that i believe is a G2. What would be a good lift kit to purchase for my cart, not looking to be outrageous just something practical. Maybe 6 to 7 inches, any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: good lift kit to buy
Depends on what you do with the cart, is it for looks or riding, whats budget. Higher fits bigger tires that cost more but more gearing so faster and rolls over stuff better, but its not as stable unless its wider. The more gear you have the worse it will be on hills and towing heavy things, but you can work on clutches to help.
Unless you are poor I'd recommend 22s minimum lot more tires to choose and I'd recommend you get ATV rated tires they are way more puncture resistant and don't sway the sidewalls, unless you only run sand then soft tires are fine. If you plan on keeping the cart or similar future cart get the wheels/tires you like as you might have them for quite a while. Most all carts are 4 on 4 bolt pattern. Cooler wheels can be worth a few more dollars now to have them for years. I still run the set I bought in '99. If you go offroad and go fast you need a double arm lift, they work nicer. Different shocks on that work better yet. Putting around you don't need one, but double arms do look cooler and ride better over rough ground. G2 you can't fit over 23 without modding at least the rear area like the bumper frame, far as I know, or lifting it really high. Really high is not good if you like to turn fast, especially on trails/etc. Jakes are one of the best lifts far as quality, allsports are good bang for buck, in general. The cheap 20" tire lifts are the cheapest, way better than a stock cart and get the job done, all depends on what you want and your budget. To fit 22s on G2/9 the lift has to move the arms forward. |

Re: good lift kit to buy
Thank you for the responses. I plan on using it mainly for towing a jr. dragster at our race track, so not going to high and need enough power and torque to pull the car. Thanks again.
