G-8 hesitates around corners!
Starts and takes off fine. When you go around a corner it hesitates a bit then takes off. New carb, air box sealed tight, new plug, fuel and air filters. Any ideas guys???

Does it have the plastic spacer between the engine and carb? If so it may be cracked. Not sure what cornering would have to do with it.

Re: G-8 hesitates around corners!
only thing i can think of is a loose wire like a ground wire. or the fuel pump may be getting bad. i know i always take the old tank fuel filter out of these models and run an in line one.

Re: G-8 hesitates around corners!
Hello Paul,
Groundpounder, you are near the problem. As you say, clean & check the pump, maybe to be sure get a new membraneset in it. I think its the carb, even the old one did the same. First look at the floating needle, does it move free? (Dirt hooking it up?) Look at the floatinglevel. Is it right? Maybe give it a little more, so there is a higher gaslevel in the floatingchamber. Do you have other springs under your cart as normal? This can be the course, because in a curve the gas gets to one site in the floatingchamber and therefore it can't get the gas in the engine. Your carb is in the basics the same as on my racecart and we have the same problem with a carb when it is new, so without modifications. Our racecart has no springs, so stays horizontal in curves and all the gas gets to one site in a long highspeedcurve. The onley other course could be a loose ignitionwire somewhere, that makes no or the wrong contact in curves. Sourch for it.... Benno |
