Smile Gear Problems

I have a 1985 G2A gas Yamaha cart. It runs great. However, when I pull a wagon it grabs a lower gear and pulls hard until you let off the throttle and slow almost to a stop, then it drops out of the lower gear and goes normally unless you give it alot of gas. How can I fix this problem.

Have you greased your clutches recently?

Welcome to the forum!!

Yep, sounds like your clutches are not sliding free. There should be a zerk fitting on the front clutch (drive) and on the rear clutch (driven). Give them each 2-3 squirts. If you pump too much you will have other problems.

General purpose bearing grease would be good.
