Default Yamaha Golf Cart Wont Start

ok so it is a 80s something model it was runing fine one day and i snaged a root and it ripped some wires apart it would still run but not charge the battery so i conected them back together but there was 2 i couldn find where to connect but it worked and would charge the battery then i put a stero on it and drove it for about a week and it died on me it sttarted putting and died i would wait and keep tryin and i got it to start after aminute then it puted on along home but the next day i tryed to start it and it wouldnt do anything so i pulled my handy test lite out and came to realize the selonid is gettin power and is gettin power through the little wire also but it wont engage the starter so i crosed the selonoid with some pliers and it would run fine until i would take the pliers of so is it a bad selonoid and how would i fix it can you clean them?

Wow thats a loong sentance!

To answer your question, a bad selonoid is a bad selonoid as far as im concerned and I havent had much luck on cleaning them or repairing my old ones. It sounds like thats whats causing your problem but before you go buying something check the simple things...

Make sure your getting a good ground and check your wires and make sure there all getting a steady current before purchasing somthing.

It should be a white wire running off the selinoid to the battery.
