G14, 16hp duromax install questions
I decided to skip the rebuilt since the balancer and a piston need to be replaced. Figured instead of spending the money on it, rather just put it towards something more powerful. I just purchased an electric start 16 hp duromax ($289 shipped, great deal I thought) from maxtool and a cvtech clutch from cpp. My question is, what all can I take off my cart to install the new motor? Don't need the generator/starter but what about the fuel pump, controller, solenoid, factory key switch, etc. I assume i could take ghis all out but just want to verify with you guys. I would like to use the factory gas tank since its so large but not sure if I still need the factory fuel pump. Any hep will be greatly appreciated!

Re: G14, 16hp duromax install questions
I think you still need fuel pump ,most of the clone motors are gravity fed gas, will need a solenoid and a new switch like a lawn mower or car, some motors come with switch, hope this helps ,post some pics of your build ,we love pics

Re: G14, 16hp duromax install questions
You can use your original fuel pump and that should be all you need. Everything else should come with the new engine.

Re: G14, 16hp duromax install questions
Cool, thanks guys. Engine and clutch should be here this weekend but I want to get the cart all cleaned up so I can jump right into the install when it gets here. I'll post some pics once I get going so you guys can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Ha! Thanks again!

Re: G14, 16hp duromax install questions
I would suggest keeping your starter generator so you will have a charging system if you plan on running lights.
