Could the rack be bent?

it looks like it travels straight. up until i hit that hard spot and it almost looks like it kinks a little bit. then countinues easy. they are really big wheeels and tires 23 10.50 12 maybe this is normal for the wheel size just seems annoying.

No, what I mean is, could the rack arm or shaft be bent, or the pinion shaft be bent as well? With what your explaining, you should dismantle or at least pull the boots off and see if you can see anything out of the ordinary. Maybe there is a missing tooth.

Bug, I think the 16 with the A-arm sus. is better than the 22 spindle lift sus. Long travel on the 22, ok. But I believe I would sell the 22 and use the money for big HP in the 16. I know the 22 is newer...

Others may come along with better ideas, just my .02!

Can you remove it and measure it? I just replaced bronze bushings in my rack from local supplier.

Or you can buy the housing (it has the bearing installed). Normally the bearing goes bad beacause of a bent rack/gear shaft.
