Re: sweepspot
Does it do this when cold? When I first got my 97 G16 late last year, I had to choke it quite a bit when cold and also it stumbled a lot till warmed up (even after warm it was a "dog"). Mine also has a dead spot when depressing the gas pedal. Seems like you have to go beyond that certain "spot" or it won't fire. I haven't been able to figure it out, but I just know what it does and I live with it, although, mine doesn't go dead again when you go past the "spot" (the second dead spot on yours may be a call for choking). Mine had driven and drive clutch issues which I corrected, (and this also helped performance immensely). I also put on a torque spring on the secondary for better hill climbing ability. While I was into it, I added some breathing holes in the air cleaner and opened the main just a little. So far this year it has really been running great with very little or no choking required (even from cold). Let me know if choking helps.
