Default G16 motor in a g14?

I'm pretty sure my g14 motor is shot. It had been smoking for some time, kept topping off the oil and still riding it(not smart I know)so here is what happened. I'm cruzin along and it slows down I got off checked the oil added a little and went about 50 feet and it made the most god awful rattle ever as soon as it did that I turned it off and was towed home. So now to the big question I saw a motor for a g16 on craigs list and was wondering how hard it would be to use it in mine. It's the only motor I have really seen that might work so far

The wife has put me on a budget so no big block

You might have to tweak the engine mounts or make a plate for it to sit on. I would also try to get the ignition module: not sure if the G14 will cross over, I'm sure you could rig it up, also get wiring harness, coil, etc... if you can. Be sure to get the carb and air box and the muffler.... everything you can.

Definitely make whoever you are buying it from let you hear the engine run and get everything you can that goes with it.

If you do this, keep us informed. I've personally always wanted to put a G16 engine in a G9.
