yahama G 9 lean at Hi end? / under load?
Hi to all...
Been lurking here for a while and decided to join. I have been a Technician for about 25 years but this yahama is kinda kickin my butt 1993 Yahama G9 Gas It is a stock motor G9 with new spark plug / airfilter / voltage regulator (would not shut off) / fuel filter / belt / rear clutch torque spring kit / 22in tires / everything seems like it should be perfect... but when driving in yard under slightly higher load or road driving under slightly hilly unit will start to "spark knock" / ticking sound at higher rpms coming from under seat area played with gov... orig owner had in turned in a bit. I backed it out to stock tried new 93 octane fuel and even completely went through carb... twice! so any body have an answer... i keep reading airbox but am not sure how to eliminate this as an issue. runs good very smooth and lots better after rear clutch spring but the spark knock cant be good... so I need it repaired if I cant figure it out... anybody in my area up to a hundred miles (i can trailer to you) want to take a look at this thing??? Please help Thanks so much chris at rangersniper308@yahoo.com Last edited by rangersniper308; 06-19-2011 at 04:43 PM.. Reason: added to post |
