Brake drums won't come off
I've got a G9 and we're trying to get it fixed up, but we can't
get the drums off to check the brakes. I don't won't to hammer enough to break a drum. We've loosened the brakes but the drums won't budge. Is there a puller or do I need to keep tapping and take my time. |

Re: Brake drums won't come off
There are 2 6mm threaded holes if the face of each drum. Screw in a couple 6mm bolts and turn them each a quarter turn at a time and the drum should break loose.
Good luck, Mike |

Re: Brake drums won't come off
Good deal john, now use "never seize" on all moving parts of the brake assem. (small amount). Then I put a light film, very light on the axle flange that faces up to the inside of the brake drum. And you shouldn't have that problem again. I also put a very small amount on the stud threads. Next time you go into the water, you'll be happy you did.
