Default I'm new, wondering if anyone can get advice

I just spent $500 to get my gas yamaha going and it lasted only a couple of weeks. I'm alittle hesitant to send it to a shop again. I was wondering if anyone had advice as it which parts I should replace. It is an electrical problem. Maybe just the starter. idk. When you push the pedal you can hear a click but thats it. Starter doesn't turn. just a click. any ideas? Thank you for looking.....

A good (and fairly easy) starting point would be to obtain a condition on your battery. A dead or low battery will result in a click only when you push the gas. Measure the open circuit voltage of your battery. Fully charged should be in the neighborhood of 12.5 to 12.8 V. If you have a cart that can be put into neutral, try cranking the engine in neutral while observing battery volts. Volts will disappear or go way down if battery needs charging. Report back what you find. Also, need to know what cart you have. RAY

thank you for the advise. Hopefully this weekend I'm going to do as you suggested and I'll let you know how it goes.

it's an older yamaha. I don't have a model number on me. They wouldn't tell me what fixed it the first time. They just started replacing stuff. The ticket said they replaced wires, a belt, rebuilt the carb., replaced a tire. They pretty much racked my bill up but never told me what they thought the problem was. I was happy cause it was running when I picked it up but know its doing exactly what it was doing when I took it in.

The click may be a switch and the solenoid is not working.

Is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke ? That info will help a little to age it. RAY

I think I would call the repair shop and tell them it still has the same problem. and what can be done about it. The problem has cost $500 already, and its not fixed!! If they convey they will fix it, for free, take it back. They've obviously not put the right parts on it yet. If not, the people here can help you. And you'll learn something in the process!!

Need to find out what cart you have, then go the sticky above; So your Yami won't turn over. And follow the tests in that sticky. Take you right to it!

I would have issues with the shop if i took it in cause it wouldn't start and they changed a belt and a tire.
