DJ, don't know of a reset button on a solenoid, Don't know what car, yr/model, your working on. But did you follow the sticky above: "so your yami won't start" ?

A 1mph impact shouldn't have hurt anything. I would start looking for the fuse blown, or a wire to have come off. Check for loose wire.

And Good morning!!!

IF it won't reset, its probably set. Not tripped.

Good morning Dj ,
The "reset button" that you are refering to I believe is not a reset button but the end of the solenoid plunger.Should have a rubber cover on the back of the solenoid. On a previous post you stated that if you push the button that the cart starts right up without the key on.Thats what will happen just like you jumped the solenoid with a screw driver. So your problem is your signal to the solenoid either from your ignition switch or your start button under the gas pedal.By the way what type of cart are talking about here. If you dont have a wiring diagram go to the stickeys and find wiring diagram and locate your model, then find the wire from the ign switch on the diagram and check with a volt meter on your cart with key on/key off.If ok then go to the wire from the pedal switch(start button )under gas pedal and check that. I am assuming that since you are going to the solenoid as your fault that you have already checked all your grounds and fuses. If not go back to the basics. There is also a stickey here about your cart not starting. Read that too , good luck and keep us posted .Tom

hey gang, thanks for replying, im working on my (new to me) 1988 yami g2. i went to the sticky- yami wont start and got some good info off that. I followed the steps that igkra #69 suggested and i really think my solenoid is bad. I have juice going to the "noid" and nothing come out of it going to the starter when pedal is pressed, i dont hear a click or anything. i also have ground (little black wire) at the "noid" and volts going to the little red wire when pedal is pressed. does this sound to you guys that the "noid is bad??

Hey Dj Did you check the red /white wire for power when you press the gas pedal? Its on the back of the solenoid, not the side that has the battery sized cables. if no power check the fuse that has red wire should be on driver side rear fender well area near the regulator. Just to refresh my memory you did say in your other post that when you press the button on the back of the solenoid that it cranks right?

Ok when you have the key on and put the cart in reverse does the buzzer sound??? If not check the black fuse near the red fuse. If you already did Ok.If its good I would agree with you that your solenoid is bad.The black wire on the back of the solenoid also feeds the reverse switch so if the sounder works then your wiring is probably good. I do say probably because these carts are known for poor wiring issues. If all else fails you could try the red-neck way (usually works for me ) while the pedal is pushed try "tapping" the solenoid with a hammer... Be careful cause if it works the carts gonna move if its not on neutral.Good luck and keep us posted. Tom

Hey Dj use your volt/ohm meter and disconnect both the wires on the solenoid(the black and red white) and check resistence on that part of the solenoid.if its 0 ohms or close to it, then the solenoid should be good if not you need a new one. Try that.
