Another clutch puller question
After doing some poking around it looks like the clutch on my 87 could be the same one used on G2, G8, G9 and G14. I need to get a puller to remove the fixed sheave and was wondering if anyone knows if the puller for the older style clutch would work on this one?

Re: Another clutch puller question
I just bought one. It's listed as the puller for G1-G22 carts. Unless the clutch has been changed from original, it should work.

Re: Another clutch puller question
Want to ask another question about the clutch/puller!!!
Does anyone know if the clutch pictured above is a stock clutch that was used on later model G1's or if it's an aftermarket replacement? Has anyone pulled a clutch like this with the same clutch puller for an earlier model? |

Re: Another clutch puller question
Not a problem. Unfortunately I ordered the gold anodized one. Apparently it's the cheaper of the two. I actually had to order a tap and die set to "fix the puller" before it would work. The threads were banged up out of the box. I don't think they were cut correctly to begin with though. I had to chase em all the way from start to finish and you could feel the resistance all the way as the threads cleaned up.
Someone just posted recently about your type/style clutch. I've got the other style on mine. |

Re: Another clutch puller question
Dirk,
The clutch pictured at the beginning of this thread is the later style clutch used on G1's and up as you noted. The main difference is the G1 clutch will have a gear on the backside to run the oil injection pump, later models won't. The same puller will work on all Yamaha clutches including this one and up to at least G22. |
