Default yamaha grinding

when going into reverse or forward there is a grinding until it finally engages into gear, what can be adjusted? or is it more of a clutch issue.
it is a 1999 yamaha gas cart

You should bring the cart to a complete stop (including engine stopped), before attempting to shift to forward or reverse. If you continue to shift gears with the engine/cart in motion, you will end up with trashed gears. NOT GOOD !! Hope this helps - RAY

That sounds like a clutch.

Sounds more like a cable adjustment than a clutch. After time the cables do stretch and wear out.

Hey, RJNITRO, I've found the adjustment procedure in my manual on CD. If you post your E-mail I can send it to you as an attachment. I think in addition to adjustment, lubing the cable and attachment points is also a good thing to do. RAY
