Cool Yamaha G9 Club - Everything G9!

Welp, today is my B-day. Hard to belive half a century has gone by! Been kicking around the idea to start this club, so what a better time then now eh? lol I've only been on this site for a few months since I bought my first cart. Never thought about owning one untill my neighbor came over with his new EZ go. He took me and the grandkids for a ride, and we all got bitten by the bug! I've learned more about carts in the past few months then I thought I ever would thanks to this site, met some nice friends, and better yet, almost feel like I can contribute (almost...lol) to help other cart owners :) I belong to a few other forums (Audi, Harley, Chevy, etc....) but this one by far is one I like to visit most. My G9 is also what I've been dumping the most money into latley... gawd when will it end? lol Anyways, looking forward to meeting other G9 owners to share experiences with and create new friendships! Dave

Thanks Mike :) Checking the backlash on the valves today and I'm already off to a bad start. I was hoping the gasket wouldn't rip when I removed the cover, but it did. Not sure if permatex will be okay until I pickup a new gasket short-term. Now I can't find my feeler gage so will have to run into town for a new one. All this and I'm still hungover from my bday party last night....lol

I would use a very thin film of silicone, and hope you have all the gasket there. It will work till you get a new one.

Dave-After revamping 3 CCSparkies I picked up a 91 G9 last week. Engine is top notch body is good but I have to remove 3 coats of spray-can paint, I want to use my top but back supports are toast after being held together with duct tape!!. I will make a new one out of 1" conduit. Did you paint your'9 yourself. Looks good. I am going a 4" lift and 10" spokes. Found a few pieces of alum dia. plate but think I will cut my own from sheet stock. PM me as to where you found the headlight kit and the ABS dash. I already like the '9 better than my '04 CC. Happy birthday. I just had my 80th. Flunked my flight physical, sold the airplane-wife & kids grounded me on the motorcycle but wait until I get the 24 Vanguard in the '9, they won't suspect a thing.

Hey dcannow, nice to meet you! I'll send you a PM on the dash & headlights. As far as the paint goes, its the factory white and has never been painted. But since you mentioned it, I want to get a few opinions on paint. Long story short, a talented friend of mine built and painted an extended Astrovan about 10yrs ago with a color that he mixed himself. I liked it so much it took me a week to convince him to mix me a quart for my guitar. It didn't take much to paint the guitar so I still have almost a full quart of this. I'm concerned about the shelf life cause its going on 10yrs old now. Do you think a quart will be enough to paint the cart? I know its purple, but if I get picked on, I'll just say its my wifes....lol
