intermittent spark forward and reverse G1

I was hoping someone can help me figure out why this cart Im working has intermittent spark. The thing is that its intermittent both forward and reverse but in reverse it doesnt seem to be as bad. I mechanic at a clubar dealer so i know my way around carts, Im just lacking some electrical knowledge on this G1

Check your electrical connections, especially the four wires coming from the pickup coils behind the flywheel. They are on the right rear of the engine, down low and can be difficult to see. If that doesn't produce anything, get a wiring diagram from the stickies above and get back to us and we can dig deeper.

hey thanks for the info but after looking over the wiring with a fine tooth comb I found that somebody had changed the key switch harness. when they changed it they just twisted the wires together and wrapped them with tape. i removed the tape and found the green monster. so I cut them back and soldered them properly. Thanks for input.
