81, g1, belts
hey everyone, i need to change starter belt, and drive belt, is it better to take off the flywheel side instead of clutch side? never done it, thanks

The drive belt on most any cart you grab it and pull it up, it will slide inside the secondary (large clutch on trans) then you can take it off. Sometimes you can rotate the moving sheave on the secondary up the ramps, sometimes the ramps stick a little, so it parts.
The generator belts usually have a tension bracket with a slot in it, you loosen that bolt, very similar to an old car alternator. You may have to loosen the bolt under it so it tilts but often you don't have to. |
