If you follow mine or anyones directions here that are trying to help you why would you think we would tell you to do something that would harm you or your cart?

what is "A piece of wire" ?????

If you are talking about using the two jumper wires from the battery to test your solenoid then you will not burn any wires on your cart.
If you are not talking about the jumpers then please try to give more complete answers.

Remove the two small wires from your solenoid and move them out of the way.
Use two jumper wires from your battery to the two small posts on the solenoid, does it turn the engine over?
