Default G1 Oil Injector Testing

Any suggestions on the proper testing of the injection system. It worked until i drained the tank to put new oil in. I bled it marked the tank and it hasn't budged. If i premix how many ounces per gallon of gas?

The oil injection system uses a tiny amount of oil to lubricate the engine. The injection ratio will vary between 300:1 at idle/no load to 150:1 at full throttle/load. It will take a long time before you notice the oil tank level drop. The best way to test it is to put some chainsaw/weedwhacker fuel in a small gastank and hook it up to the carb. Disconnect the oil injection line at the carb, run the engine and watch for an occasional bubble of oil to come out the injection line.

Premixing has been discussed here a lot, many opinions on the subject. Do a search of this forum and read the threads. Keep in mind the stock engine was designed to max out at about 2700 RPM at its governed speed of 12 MPH. The oil injection was calibrated with this in mind. The engine can handle much higher RPMs with modification, but a little more lubrication is a good idea.

You need the info from the manual. I know you can pressurize the hose with a vacuum test tool and make the rate higher. Make sure you run premix until you are sure all the air is out and its working right. They don't take much oil at all, they only kick out more oil with pressure in the exhaust at large throttle opening.
