Default g1 not firing

was driving down the road almost full throttle and it shut down on me. looked like no fuel in the filter so got it home pulled fuel line off at carb and fuel came out when i turn it over. I don't have a spark tester at this moment (will pick one up this week) but when i ground it out i get nothing? all wires are plugged in and fuses good that I know of. the mount for the coil is cracked but it's plastic would that affect anything?

Will it crank and start in reverse?

Take your connections apart and check carefully for corrosion, broken wires and connectors, or loose connections. Very common on these old buggies.

It wasn't starting in reverse. I found the issue thanks to your response! you saved me some time on this one . It turned out to be that it was showing with a test light that ground was good on the case of the coil. since the plastic mount was broken, the bolt was loose that held the ground wire onto the side of the coil just enough to get some rust and a little crud in there. after simply cleaning the connections with a wire brush it starts right up!!! Thanks again for the pointers.

Just curious if it was starting in reverse that would have been a timing issue right? when I did crank shaft seals I tried my best to set it to the marks I made where it was before.
