Default yamaha gas engine i d

Hi, need help, just bought my first cart.By serial # it is a G14 but im in the process of overhauling it and tring to find out what engine it has. Engine #starts JN5, and i dont knowif it has been changed or converted from another cart. thanks need all the help i can get

No worries.....Your JN5 engine is correct for the G14, in fact that engine was only used in the G14. If you need more help, just ask, lots of smart helpfull members here. Welcome to BGW!

thanks for the info gonna tear it down tonight , has a rattle in the low end , excellent compression ,just something loose in the bottom . sometimes will turn over good ,shake it a little then only get a half turn till it locks. Was told there is a counter balancer (?) that sometimes breaks? and was wandering where to get a pic break down of that engine.

thanks ,smallblock450sl, im gonna tear it down tonight,it has a rattle in the low end ,shake the engine some it will turnover,then sometimes it wont turn half a turn till u shake it loose again.great compression ?????
