Jakes Sport shifter Install on Yamaha G8
Shifter is not listed for the G8 Yamaha, but will work.
First step is remove stock lever, center the shiter over the shaft and drill the mount holes. I drilled right through into the metal brace [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] You will need 1/4" longer bolts than supplied to go through the support [IMG][/IMG] With the top and side plated off the shifter, mount the housing to the cart [IMG][/IMG] Instruction walk you through taking the heim joint loose from the shifter, putting it on the shaft and hooking back up to the shifter, very simple. Now you have to put the side and top plates back on and check operation of the shifter. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Note; the big deal here is adjusting the heim joint so the shift lever goes as far forward, in the slot of the top plate, so you can get it into reverse. Now for me I had to cut the heim joint adjust bolt and screw it all the way in (to make as short as possible). You will likely have to take the side and top plates back off a couple times to adjust, which is simply 8 screws. When adjusting put the seat on, to allow for shifter movement. I had it adjusted great, but then the shift lever hit the seat and would not go into reverse. Its a simple install and I will let Jakes know it will fit the best made Yamaha cart, the G8 [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: Jakes Sport shifter Install on Yamaha G8
It actual is pretty simple. He put the f/r inside the body and let the actuator just do the movement from left to right. It's in the thread with his green BB cart. I cant fing the thread though
