Default My New Project - 1979 G1

Just picked up a 1979 Yamaha G1 Service Cart as my winter project. It's complete and runs. While it looks a little rough on the outside, she's very solid and clean under the hood. I'm planning on installing 6" lift and 10" rims.

Got a question: What is the diamond plate rear body worth? I'm thinking of selling it to finance a newer rear body. Then again, the diamond plate would look good polished up.

I'll post pics as I get into it.

P.S. I've got to get rid of that ridiculous looking headlamp!!

Cool diamond plate! I've never seen one of those, is that a factory body?

Yes, it's a factory body. Go figure! I had the same thought as you did. I'm still not sure if I'll keep it, or sell it and purchase a new back half body.

I'm not sure if you can buy a "new" body, but surely there are lots of used G1's out there for parts. Hmmm you have me thinking now....

Yep, I've been looking for the rear body in the for sale section. So much to do, not enough time to do it.

I'd trade my stock G1 rear for your diamond plate, that would work good here on the farm.

Thanks for the offer but I'm not sure if I want to part with it just yet.
