cdi heating up on G9! Help
My cdi is heating up. Is this common?
I have a 1991 yam g9 that I have replaced the cdi, the coil, and the carb. First cdi sizzled the top. Bought second one and it fires the cart right away and runs great but the cdi gets hot by where the wires go in. The wires coming from the pickup are red/white and black/white with a bare? Ground wire. The voltage regulator is plug in square. With billlet ridges that is different from the one that DIY CARTS show on their site. Cart runs great but scared its gonna melt cdi again. Please help. |

Re: cdi heating up on G9! Help
I traced out the pick up wire and found melted case for ground wire to pick up. I am in process of replacing the pick up and assoc. Wires.
Found loose Philips head screw inside flywheel that I suspect as cause for short. |
