Default Got my G16

Dumped the old fuel, found some leaking lines, dumped the carb bowl, spark plug looks decent. Fuel is moving to the carb and not leaking out now. Have not checked for spark. Ran out of time tonight. Can't get it to fire off yet.
I guess I'll check the plug for fire next and go from there.

Got fire at the plug, cleaned carb. No luck. I saw a thread about weak batteries. Hooked up the charger and was getting 12v drops to 9v when I hit the starter. Let it charge a while. Hit the starter and it fired. Kept messing with it and as it charged it was starting to run a little more. Got it to crank and drive around the yard, had to work the throttle to get it to rev up. Made a couple of laps around the yard then it started bucking and quit. I just parked it. Got the charger on this morning. I think battery from 2005 is bad.
When the cart is off, should it roll freely? I think it's staying in gear or something.

It's stuck in gear. Belt is tight.

On my G16 it stays in gear when you shut it off and I believe this is normal. For neutral move the shift lever from forward to reverse until the back up alarm comes on then move it back until it goes off that should be neutral. You can then move it freely.

Pulled the cover off the clutch and found one of the weights slung outside the roller. Roller is flat but not broken. Time to read up and see what all I need to replace while I'm in there. Do I need a puller just to get that far?
Here's a pic to help someone else maybe. Also a pic of something stuck in the grease inside the cover.

Hmmm....that doesn't look good. Do you have a service manual for your cart? I'd start there and see if any of those pieces are able to be identified. Maybe a G16 expert will chime in. Glad you got it running!

Looks like I can just replace the rollers but I'm curious to hear from some of you experts, is there anything else I need to replace while I'm in there? I guess I'll have to buy the puller. I saw one member had tapped his out with a 2x4. Might be worth the 30 bucks not to destroy something more expensive.

I know Tom CPP (site sponsor) now sells replacement steel roller's, I'd check with him. He also sells the puller. You do not want to breake the fixed sheave or floating flange...very expensive. Those little plastic "plugs" were located in the sliding sheave so the weight would hit them and not the aluminum, no big deal. As I've said many times...do not over grease the clutch....that one is way over greased!

I saw both at East Coast (site sponsor) with free shipping. Will look around and order tonight. Those plastic parts come with the new one I assume. Might as well get the puller, I'm sure will need it again one day. I'll clean all the grease out when I pull it. Thanks for the help!
