no fuel door=bad?
so my old G2 doesn't have a fuel door, and I think i'm getting some water in my fuel, will the fuel cap leak in rain water/snow?
i'm thinking of draining the fuel tank just to take a look at the fuel. but it won't stop raining ! |

Re: no fuel door=bad?
90% of the G2's and G9's I've seen don't have a fuel door. As long as your gas cap doesn't have any holes you'll be ok. Only other way to get water in the tank would be through the vent but it's under the seat.

Re: no fuel door=bad?
I worked on a G9 that sat outside no door, it had a ton of water in the tank. I used to wash mine off under the seat all the time thoroughly and it got water too. The cap does leak water in, at least the caps I see with the vent in them. I ran some dry gas through mine and do not get water on the cap anymore or that little air vent in the tank, I do have a door bought a new one soon after the old one broke, a long time ago, and mine does not sit outside that much.
