Pulling weight
I have a G2 and was wondering how much it will pull? I have a plugger that wieghs about 500lbs. It pulls it just gets to a point and acts like it is in a bind. Will this hurt it? I have a new clutch in it from CPP and belt.
Thanks Mac |

Re: Pulling weight
Mac I don't have an awnser about "pulling weight", but if you want more torque....I would suggest a "Jakes" torque spring in the secondary. There is no longer "preload", but the stiffer spring makes the primary clutch and belt give more torque to the secondary clutch. Please do not by one from BU...I've tried them and they are so stiff of a spring...the engine over rev's. When your done with the upgrade can you aireate my lawn? Let us know what you decide on. Later Dave

Re: Pulling weight
I agree. Get the spring/spacer kit for the secondary clutch. Best investment for torque you'll ever make on a Yamaha. I have one on my G9 and pull my Rhino on trailer around all over the place with no problems.

Re: Pulling weight
Get a torque spring! one of the best investments on any of my 4 carts.
With the torque spring I can pull the front wheels off the ground on my G9 600lbs on the cart and pulling a 800lb wood splitter |

Re: Pulling weight
Wow! You guys really give your carts a workout. I haven't used mine for work duties yet (usually use my father's JD Gator with powered dump box) but it's good to know I can hitch my trailer to the cart and not worry about it.
I agree with the torque spring addition as it will greatly help your low end power. I have a Plowman's spring and machined secondary clutch that allows me to almost idle up the steepest grades I can find. Some are so steep I sometimes wonder if I should have even tried to climb them in the first place. |

Re: Pulling weight
I pulled a 25' camper into the barn with mine...I could pick the front wheels off the ground with 1 finger

Re: Pulling weight
Thanks for the replies. I guess I will be getting a torque spring. Would you get one from CPP or where?
