Frighteningly unused 1989 Yamaha G3 gas golf cart: Proud new owner!! (photos!)
I finally bought a golf cart!! YAY!
I bought this one from a dealer, just this morning. It's been living, garaged, in a country club for the uber-rich, just brought out for servicing once a year and pretty much unused otherwise. It's a 1989, and there's not even any tread wear on the original tires. It's in spooky good shape. You could eat off the engine. The dealer put a new battery in it and flushed the fuel system. It has a tape deck (whoo!) and a mobile phone. Wow, mobile phone in a golf cart in 1989? Swank. Full set of photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hlscotl...7630000673004/ I'm excited! I'm not sure what I'm going to turn it into for Burning Man, but it's in such pristine condition I don't want to mess with the body much. It's already such a weird-looking thing! |

That's a classic--It would be a shame to butcher it up.

That's awesome! I love it. I wouldn't change a thing except maybe a cd/mp3 player instead of the cassette and maybe get rid of the phone. Your thread title is correct! It's like a twilight zone episode..lol.

I paid $2000 out the door (I live in California, things are expensive out here!) including a spare tire, a service kit, and delivery to a location about an hour away.
Considering it's basically a time capsule of a cart (there's not even any scuff marks from golf shoes! And they used metal spikes back then!), it was more than I wanted to spend on a cart, but I can't imagine a better one. |

I dunno, I can plug one of those auxiliary cassette adapter-thingies into the tape deck, and run my iPod from that. Also, having a tape deck is kind of hilarious. And DUDE, the PHONE IS THE BEST PART. I'm going to leave it as a conversation piece.

Cool. I didn't know they even still made those adapters. The phone is a great conversation starter! Glad you got it!

Very cool find. I would'nt touch a thing on it. I would say 2000 is a very fair price for it.
