Default G9 pricing.

Says its a 94 G9, Guy is asking $500 for it, I'm waiting on pics to be sent, but I'm curious if it's a good price, of course I know any engine work can be expensive, but I'm trying to get something I can tinker with for my first cart, but not be a money pit.

I really appreciate any and all info!

"For Sale is a 94 Yamaha GAS G9 golf cart, it runs and drives but needs some work, thats why i am selling it so cheap. if you know how to fix one up, here you go, it will need a good cleaning and maybe some engine work. "

Guy says it starts up fine but smokes a little. Inks it just needs to be run, but he isn't a mechanic on them so doesn't know, wishes he were tho. It's got good shocks, tires, recently put a new battery and solenoid

I'd do it for that price.

Good to know, just wanting to make sure this isn't something I should just let pass.

Any ideas why it might smoke?

being an older cart smoke could mean piston rings in motor are shot which can be a pricey fix...best thing to do is do a compression test on motor before purchase...otherwise its worth the money ;)

Dang, unfortunately I don't have the tools to do a compression test. I would hate to get it and the motor need to be rebuilt or replaced all together

That would def turn a small project into a bigger one...but it could be something as simple as its overfilled with oil and dumping into muffler, check the normal things you would check out on a car...condition of oil (black and runny or clean) and air filter...these things will tell you how well maintained the cart was or if it was rode hard...

Yea he said it has sat for awhile, so it might just be as simple as oil built up in the muffler, burning it off
