Question G2 no spark help

I have a G2 that is kicking my butt. So far everything has tested fine so I've been parts changing which takes time and money. I've changed the ignitor, coil, pick-up(pulser) coil, new plug, new ground from battery to motor and brand new harness and fuses. I get a weak and sometimes good spark for a split second when I let off pedal and thats it. Also the cart has oil in it and the battery cables are not backwards.By-passed pedal switch as ive seen that in rare cases also. Any suggestions are welcomed as both myself and my customer are becoming impatient. I dont have a voltage regulator in stock but I'm not sure if that would cause this or not...Every thread I've looked at has the same problem with no solution so this would be a great time to add one on the net...I Will keep posted...

I've only had this problem once and it ended up being something in the wiring harness somewhere because that is what I ended up replacing with larger wire (10 or 12 ga if I remember right)(I made it up myself) and it fixed it. I see you've replaced the wiring harness though. One aggrivating problem. Keep us posted.

Might try some larger guage wire. Just a suggestion and have no idea if it would help or not. I noticed a greater amount of power to my old G9 after replacing the wiring harness with larger guage wire. Could've just been something else but it fixed several electrical issues I was having including a weak spark.

Ill try anything at this point lol...The only thing that throws me is the weak spark I get right when I let on or off the pedal...this usually points to a ground issue I believe...I'll try running a larger ground strap to the motor along with uping the wiring...

G2's have a rev limiter on them built into the ignition box somehow. Have you considered maybe it might possibly be linked in with this. Just throwing it out there.

probably a dumb question but did you try a new battery??? Been bit by that in the automotive field. usually a cheap and easy thing to rule out . I know how you feel being a factory tech, you feel more pressure, cause your the dealer! I am a jaguar land rover tech and I completely agree its probably something simple thats been over looked. Been there done that!!!Keep at it and keep us all posted. Tom

Did the customer work on the car before bringing it to you?

My Wifes' G16 was doing the same thing,It was a bad ground-wire from the panel the electrics are mounted to,It ran from the panel(grounded at solenoid mount-bolt)into the engine-harness.I ran a new one to the battery, been fine ever since. It was broken internally somewhere in the harness, instead of cutting it all apart,I just put a jumper on and bypassed it,It started,so I ran the new wire.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies everyone...Yes I've put a new battery in and tried reversing the battery leads as well, customer bought it from a family friend that had spliced and diced the wiring harness up real bad so I replaced that hoping that was the only problem(unfortun no), I've tried a new ground strap to motor but havent done that to the harness itself so I'll try that this morn. Also I've call Yamaha and got a few suggestions...he says the symptom now is not No Spark...but what he calls first and last spark do to there not being a weak spark when the solenoid first clicks or when you let off pedal...
