Default Errr... What should I check?

1 week, runs great.. Driving around the farm today with kids, and it was like someone turned off the key. It just went dead.

Any clue, looks like no power at all key does nothing. I looked under the seat and the motor is still there? I am guessing a loose wire, it was bumpy..

Also another thing seems different, the shifter F & R shift really easy, but this may be that I never shifted it when it was off.

BTW this is a 1992 G9 Yamaha

Check the fuse on the drivers side rear inner fender, on top.

yeah what he said
next key on
kit go pedal - does motor turn over?
if not - lift seat look at battery cables on
use volt meter to check volts - should be 12-13 volts
follow main cable to starter solenoid check that you have 12-13 volts at terminals
use a jumper wire to engerize the starter solenoid, you should hear a clicking from starter.
their should be 12v at the other terminal after you engerize it.

oh yeah if the motor turns over check the spark plug - pull the spark plug and see if you have spark
if you do go to the carb next -
pull the gas line off and see if you have gas come out of the line.
turn motor over by hitting the gas pedal and see if gas comes out of the line.
if you have gas come out of line go to carb.
if no gas pull the line off the gas tank and see if gas comes out -if not change fuel filter

My G2 did this the other day when we were going through tall grass. I found that it was the 2 wires that run along the bottom of the frame just in front of the motor had pulled loose. I think they are the power wires for the gen/starter, but anyway plugged them in and started right up. A week later it done the same thing so I plugged the back in and tie wrapped them and have not had a problem since.

15amp for starters
oh yeah forgot about the kill fire going to the gas pedal. mine has done that also. they will also pull out if your are doing a lot of brush popping. As branchs will pull on the wires

I also have had it be hard to start because of the kill switch at the gas pedal
