Default Help!!! G16a conversion

We have a G16a that. Are using in a Storage Park and the existing kill switch on the gas pedal is not a good thing for our application. We would prefer that it stay running and idle until we kill it as with a car/motorcycle. Anyone done this before and have suggestions for our doing it? It would no longer require the constant Solenoid as well as wiring around the pedal switch and installing a new key switch with starter mode on it etc. surely there is a Utube video on this somewhere? All help appreciated! Thanks

This has been done here. Search it out. Just be careful on the idle that it doesn't engage the clutch.

While it may have been done I can't find how to do it and need help. I'm old and inept at computers but handy in the shop. Please help with specifics.

It would require some re-design and re-wiring. You would have to wire a latch circuit that would work with the parking brake. This is so the cart would not start unless the brake was set. Then when released it would stay running at a very low idle. A latch circuit is a basic relay lock. A pair of switches used in the circuit to set and and unset the relay latch. Look up the carts wiring schematic and go from there. Being its used around the public safety is a must.

Don't know why you want to do this, these motors have a splash oil system, and don't oil the top rocker galley well at idle. Also I believe, you will have to replace the primary clutch with one with a stall spring in it.

Without any negativity whatsoever, why are you thinking it will be much easier for the engine to idle? These carts start up pretty easily with a simple touch of the pedal. G16's are usually a little more cold collared than a G2/G9 until warmed up but start/stop quickly. I prefer the engine kill myself simply for added safety.
