Does anyone know how to hook up a tachometer to the G1 motor?

Re: installing a tachometer on my G1
There are several ways. Most tachs available at auto stores are for 4/6/8 cylinder engines. Since you have only 1 cylinder, you must devise a way to get 4,6, or 8 pulses to the tach. To do this, take the clutch off, and JB weld 4 magnets spaced at 90 degrees. The Clutch is not magnetic (aluminum). Install a hall effect pickup (a magnetic switch). The 4 pulses will then be used by the tack. I use the same method of gluing 8 magnets to the front wheel of aluminum rims and a $12 BIKE SPEEDOMETER. Much less than the $100 from a golf cart supply.
