G9 kills new battery
Last week, my 92 G9 suddenly refused to start right in the middle of a round of golf. No lights, no horn ,starter would not turn,so I assumed dead battery as the battery I had in there was over 5 years old. I was able to jump start it and figured Id just get a new battery. Installed the new battery, started right up, took a 2 minute test drive and every thing seemed fine. Just to be sure, I put a volt meter on the battery terminals to see if it was charging. I had 12 volts with the cart not running. But then I put it in neutral, started the engine, And the voltage dropped from 12 volts to 4-6 volts! That did not seem right to me. The next day, I tried to troubleshoot. Now, the new battery is completely dead. Sounds like there is a huge drain. I did not see or smell anything like it was burnt. I suspect the starter / generator but before I start pulling that out, thought I might post this message in the hopes that someone might enlighten me on what this could be.
Thanks |

Re: G9 kills new battery
check the A1, A2 on the back as well as look and see if the little wire on the side is all hook up right. loose connections even a bad ground could do it....worse case is the A1 and A2 are wrong or the little wire is toasted not letting the motor to know to charge.
