Default 2009 yamaha drive gas

Hey guys I'm a long time power sports owner of belt drive atvs, rangers, rzr, and rhinos sidexsides. I am very familar with clutching and drive belt maintenance. The wife wants a golf cart to just put put around the house to ho to and from the in-laws and ride the kids around. From best I can tell from online pics the clutch cvt belt system is open to the elements for water and mud to become in contact with the clutch. On atvs and sidexsides water on the belt equals slipping and can lead to glazing of the belt or hour glassing it. Do you guys have problems when riding your carts around the house or property after a rain and water splashing up onto the belt system. I'm totally new to golf carts but maintenance looks very easy. Just worried if I should go electric so that water or mud will not be an issue with slippage. Thanks for your time.

Welcome to BGW. I don't think you will have any problems. Water/mud has never been an issue for me in the 3 yrs I've had the cart--and I do more than putting around. The G16 has a splash pan under the swing arm--don't know about the Drive. But unless you submerge the rear end, you'll be fine.
