lifted handling issues

I bout a 2003 Yamaha lifted 6" 23" tires also has big spacers. I drove it around the guy's yard it seemed ok when I got it home took it off the trailer and got it up to speed very difficult to handle front end gets squirrelly .went local golf cart dealer he said that is because it is lifted,He didn't drive it. then he told me he would trade a 2006 club car for it. I Can't keep it I don't think it is safe. Its nice cart . is there a way to do anything with the front end as far as checking alignment?

Welcome to BGW. How much play is there in the steering wheel?

Mine's lifted about 5" and handles just fine doing 20mph so I would say something is either out of line or worn out.

Check for play in the steering or loose/damaged front end components. How big are the spacers?

Make sure the suspension and steering is all tight,also make sure the alignment is correct.If the wheels are Toe-Out(front of front tires farther out than the rear of the same tires),it will wander,hunt around,and be generally awful to drive.You want them Toe-In between 0 and 1/8".Also the guy probably wants to get your cart and turn a good profit on top of whatever he makes off the cart he offered you(considering that he made his judgement without driving it).Many people also believe that once you lift them,they aren't fuctional anymore,look around and you will see an ungodly amount of lifted carts in every form,from Street-Use to HardCore Off-Road Use.There are a few in every bunch that aren't set up correct,and they give the rest of us a bad reputation.Do your homework,look it over,or find someone who can.Try and find an ATV-mechanic,they will probably be more accomidating to your needs.Hope this helps.

Spacers are 2 inches I do feel a little play in the wheel.

I little play in the steering wheel that is.
I'll check the toe in that would be an easy fix.

Like they all said make sure everything is tight. Second check the alignment. Third I'm sure I'll catch crap for this but I'd take a Yammy over a Club Car any day. There's a reason a dealer will trade you with out hesitation.
