Default G2 for use as a Pit vehicle - Questions/Advice

Hello all,

This is Kevin from Dallas Texas.

I recently purchased Yamaha G2 (gas) and am in the process of rebuilding the cart. I am planning to use the Yammy to drive around the pits at the drag strip and to tow both my wife's and my racecars to and from the start and return roads....One at a time

So far I have taken the cart into a local shop and had it all checked out. Replaced all the brakes and cables, new carb, new fuel pump, etc. I have purchased a 6 inch lift (double A-arms) and a new set of aluminum wheels and mud tires, a new roof....I have no idea how I'm gonna mount it as my frame for the roof was trashed when I got it,,,, and, I am tearing it all aprt this weekend to start stripping and refinishing the frame.

Again, if anyone reads this and has any advice or info, please contact me.

Talk to ya'll soon,

Kevin

Your G2 should make a real nice pit car. You may want to get the torque spring for the rear clutch, it will make towing a lot easier.

I happen to have one for sale if your interested in saving some $. I put in a 23hp Briggs and don't need the torque spring any longer. They are $50 new and I will let it go for $25 plus shipping from 33426. That would be for the spring and shaft spacer.

I also have other G2 parts from the old engine, let me know if you need anything.

And welcome to BGW!!
