1990 Yamaha with electrical problems
I have a 1990 Yamaha gas golf cart that will not turn over. I checked the ignition switch and accelerator stop for continuity and they checked out. I've checked fuses. So I think I have it narrowed down to the starter or solenoid. I jumpered the small leads on the solenoid to the positive and negative battery terminals and when I connected and disconnected the negative lead I heard a clicking in the solenoid (which I didn't hear when everything was hooked up correctly and I pushed the gas pedal). I checked for voltage on the red/white and black leads to the solenoid with the ignition on and gas pedal down and couldn't get anything. What can I check to see if the starter or solenoid is bad or if there is a bad connection?
