Default G14 Gas Replacing High Gears with Stock

I am new to golf carts bought my first one last year. Somebody had already put in the high gear. I like the speed but I use it at the race track to pull cars around so I need more low end.

got 2 problems right now..

1) I can't get the the bar shift out of the transaxle so I can get the rest of the gears out (part 44 on attachment)

2) how do the axles come out? I have removed the hub and 1 snap ring on each side

Many Thanks!

Scott

I don't have the book on those, but most all axles either bolt the bearing at the brake back plate or have a pin/clips in the diff carrier to keep them in.

Make sure you work the clutches, that will help pulling power more than anything.

Pull the f/r cables out of the transaxle slots (get one out and shift the f/r lever handle into reverse to get the other one out) and it will free up movement on the shifter fork. After you have the hub and outer snap ring off, reinstall the hub and tap it with a hammer (outwards) to get the axle/bearing out. Probably would have been better just to install a tourque spring in the secondary clutch for better "pull", but I'm shure there's someone out there that would like to buy those high speed gears from you. Good luck on your build

Thanks for the info!! I will get a better spring for the secondary but its still too fast. It will run 30 mph. My kids like to ride it around and I think its just too fast. I use it to pull their little race cars around and trying to go slow when I need to is really hard in this cart.

KENNETHC I sent you a PM. If you don't want them I am going to put them on Ebay.

How do I tell what Gear Ratio I have? I have seen some listed as 6-1 and 8-1...
