Default G1 spark plug boot

Some idiot went after the spark plug boot with needle nose pliers, it just didn't look right, now the clip is broke and the wire won't stay on for some reason. Can I just replace the boot with a lawn mower boot? or is it some kind a fancy Japanese boot?

I think a mower boot would work as long as it fits the plug. Just a conductor in my opinion...

If your talking about the spark plug cap, Yamaha's actually "screw" into the coil lead, just find a spark plug cap like that or buy one from a Yamaha dealer or site sponsor. Cut off a small portion of the coil lead (to get a good clean end) and screw the new cap on.

I'll go to my Buddies shop in town, he's a yamaha dealer, there will have to be something there that will work. Maybe off of one of those $20k outboards

I can't believe I didn't think of him earlier, He's the only master service tech in the whole state and actually just got back from Yamaha school. He had the cap, it's a NGK. He's coming over to check the cart out, this could be dangerous, he'll have that thing roaring by the end of it.
