Default NewB from Kentucky - with some questions

New to the carting world, found my wife a G9 that smoked. She loves it, calls it her convertible. She was not happy when she came home and I had it apart. I don’t think she believe me when I told her that it needed to be fixed before the kids got a hold of it. Needless to say I've got to get it back together P.D.Q.
I’ve been reading here and checking what has been suggested on other postings. After taking the valve cover off (and breaking a bolt) to look at the valve seals witch looked good do I decided to take the head off. Found some scratches on the cylinder walls. So I’m going to rebuild. I have the motor out and apart. My questions are;

What’s the best way to get the primary fixed pulley off?

My cylinder measured 2.968 thousands with scratches, what does the cylinder measure from factory? (Trying to figure out what size piston kit it needs or just put new rings in.

Where can you buy the collar for the balancer assembly and how do you replace it?

Awsome site

I've been reading every thing I can to learn more about the carting world. Found out that I needed a cylinder bore and an over sized piston, so I bought a .50mm o/s and a few other needed parts. I found out that our Yamaha dealer can not and will not get golf carts parts, so I called back with part numbers and the g9 engine parts are in a lot of Yamaha different engines.
I can surf this site for hours, looking at cart pic and reading what they have done.

jason...you're bit!

Welcome to the funny palace. Make sure post pics of what you are doing, before, during, and after. Pics help the "experts" here to know what your questions are about. They also help dummies (like me) learn more.

Yah, I've been bit. I've had a blast working on it, even when I get stuck or not have the right tool. Got the motor apart, parts ordered, blocks out getting bored .50mm o/s. Still having problems get the collar for the balancer.
Should be putting it back together next weekend. Any advice for a new b would be appreciated.
