I would just run the throttle cable to the carb. It would be easier with the
body off but you can do it with the muffler off. Pics!?!?!?!?

I agree. I always bypass it and let my foot be my governor.

Thanks guys. Is there no rev limiter on the yamaha? I have read yes and no. Also where did you route the cable after you disconected it fom the throttle linkage? Some thing are just so much easier on the E-Z-GO.

The cable that runs from the gas pedal to the governor, disconnect it at
the governor and run it up to the carb. The short cable from the governor
to the carb has to be removed and no longer used. Hope this helps.

Be sure to adjust the cable so the carb. throttle completely opens and esp. completely closes when you let off the pedal.

I meant govenor linkage, thanks for reading my mind. So will it touch the rev limiter? Also should i use the Jakes power kit the BU powerkit or dixie. The problem with dixie is the shipping cost to send the sheave down then back. Also is the Jakes the only lift for an 8?

As far as the power kit goes: just go with the spring/spacer only kit and get the one that is cheapest (they are all the same to my knowledge). All of mine, the power spring is white in color.

I need to get this done because my buddy just bought a 94 medalist and came over and we raced the neighborhood. I have the 10mm screwed allthe way in and he is totally stock, I know it is only a matter of when he finds out about the ziptie!! We are pretty close now with the yamaha barely faster on the top. If he gets the jump I do not have the speed to pass. The kids had a blast.

With governor completely bypassed and throttle cable hooked directly to carb., you should hit about 25mph or so.

Figured I would post a stock pic before I start doing anything. Notice the highclass chrome spokes and the windshield. I wil cut the windshield down and ditch the wheels.[img]
Decided on the jakes lift and power kit but still looking for a pipe.[/img]
