G16- makes Knocking sound at faster speed but goes away when I go faster
What would make a knocking sount on my g16 only when at faster speeds but then goes away at a higher speeds. I have changed driven clutch shoes , belt and gone through the drive clutch and cleaned and replaced shims on weights to no avail.

Check the shifter linkage going back to the trans. and make sure it is completely engaging into forward. Those cables dry out and can cause the gear to not completely engage allowing the gears to slip and make one heck of a noise. Spray them really good with WD40.
If this isn't the issue, (and I read that you already checked) I'd re-pull the cover off the drive clutch again and make sure nothing is broken. |
