Default Gonna try and get this G1 runing,Gonna need some help guys!

Hello guys, I bought a non running G1 vin code J10. Its a pretty rough but thats ok I just need to get it running and then making her shine will be the last thing Iam worried about. So, here is my thinking. I think I wanna get it to turn over so I can check compression, and spark first. I am already thinking it is going to need rebuilt.

Here is what I did first. It doesnt have a battery so I hooked it up with jumper cables from my truck today to see if it would even turn over when I pushed the throttle down. Well what I got was a buzzing sound Or more like a really fast clicking sound. I looked on the wire diaghram and it shows the gound going to I think maybe the frame some where, but mine is going to a soleniod or relay of some type.

What do you guys think should be my next step or what to start checking?
this buzzing or clicking sound only last for about 1 sec and then nothing till I turn the key off and let it sit for a couple mins and then try it again with the same results. Thanks for any help.

Can you turn the engine over by hand?
Buzz or clicking could be poor connections with jumpers.

As Doom said try to turn it over by hand. Disconnect the plug wire. Remove the plug and squirt a little Yamalube in the cylinder as you don't know how long this thing has set. Try to turn it by hand, if it turns put it back together if not question answered. Make sure battery has full charge and ditch the jumpers! Go over EVERY connection, clean it and tighten. Check the harness for abrasion or cut wires. Check the ignition switch. Once this is done clean the gas tank and do fresh fuel. You really need a shop manual for it. I downloaded mine to my laptop for 11 or 12 bucks. If none of this works c'mon back. Keep us posted.

Abieex, would you mind post some more pics of ur engine? This will be a big help for reference. Also. There's a wire coming off of your pos. cable that you have a spade terminal, what is that for?

Thanks again
