G2 rear end
Has anyone had a rear diff apart to clean and inspect? Im getting a G2 that has been sitting awhile and I would like to open it up, solvent wash it and add fresh gear lube.. Any pics or how to's? Maybe a certain side to open it up so the.bearings dont fall out? Thanks!

Re: G2 rear end
i had to replace my input shaft in my g2. all i did was take all the case bolts off with it laying horizontal on a table and slowly separated the halfs. the bearings are stuck in the housing pretty good so i didn't have a problem with the balls falling out. Although i had a few of the washer shims fall off the shafts but i was able to find a diagram to where they go. When i took mine apart i left the axle tubes in even though the picture shows them off bc that's my parts tranny. Good luck its pretty easy to do!

Re: G2 rear end
I opened mine last year to remove the govenor. You just have to watch for the shim-washers that tumble out.Other than that, nothing really scary in there.

Re: G2 rear end
Ok. Did you leave the arm in there or remove it and plug it with something?

Re: G2 rear end
They have a good set up going on with a Clone engine also. Gives the cart about 15 horse and is pretty affordable... Look on Big Block section under clone swaps
