G1 hot/cold method?...
I remember when I first joined this forum a thread about removing and installing the crank using heat and cold instead of using all the pullers and what not. Tried searching but couldn't find anything, hoping someone will point me in the right direction... also when eliminating the oil pump do you just remove gear? just trying to get this all right before I install my enticer 250 head

Re: G1 hot/cold method?...
I can only tell you how I did mine. You will need to split the cases properly and if I remember correctly you'll need a puller with two 6mm threaded rods. Once the cases are split, bearings removed and everything cleaned you can assemble. Put the bearings in the freezer after you have lubed them well. The cases go on the grill using indirect heat and get them heated not melted. I let the bearings chill overnight and the side cases heat up for about 20 mins. drop the bearings in the cases with numbers facing out and let cool. Freeze the crank assembly then reheat the cases/bearing assy. When ready assemble all and snug up with a couple of bolts but do not torque at this point. Don't forget the snap ring on one side or the case sealant. When everthing is at room temp you can torque it. I cleaned the boly holes out with a tap. Before installing the seals, also numbers out, I re lubed the main bearings again. Hope this helps.CLEAN AS YOU CAN GET IT!!!

I removed the gear, pump and related parts. Made a plate where the pump was.
